I recently shared some thoughts on LinkedIn about ExportFromNepal.com, RenAi, and the growing optimism for local production ecosystems. Read the original post on LinkedIn →
Why Exports Matter—Beyond Moving Products
I'm proud to be associated with both ExportFromNepal.com and RenAi at a time of growing optimism for Nepal and for stronger, more resilient local production ecosystems around the world.
Exports do far more than move products across borders. For Nepal, they bring foreign exchange into the country, support jobs, strengthen local industries, and help Nepali products, materials, and craftsmanship reach the global market. At the same time, for the United States, building stronger local supplier networks and advanced manufacturing ecosystems is an important part of reducing import reliance and increasing industrial resilience.
A Surprising Connection: Nepal and Japanese Currency
I also found this fascinating video about the connection between Nepal and Japanese currency through Nepali paper:

It is a reminder that a country's contribution to the global economy can show up in surprising and meaningful ways.
What We're Building at RenAi
That broader idea is also closely related to what we are building at RenAi: using AI to help create marketplaces for local high-tech suppliers, strengthen industrial ecosystems, and support more products that are designed and made in the USA.
Whether it is Made in Nepal or Made in USA, the opportunity is similar: empower local producers, connect them to larger markets, reduce overdependence on distant supply chains, and build stronger innovation-driven economies.
